Knowledge Week in Kuwait

#KWinKW

In partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (GSSCPD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is hosting the Knowledge Week in Kuwait, on 6-10 October 2024. This event aims to drive conversations that leverage the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) insights to address developmental challenges and support Kuwait’s transition towards a knowledge-based economy in line with its third National Development Plan.

The Knowledge Week was previously hosted in Egypt and Jordan and has been instrumental in fostering dialogue between youth and policymakers, focusing on the critical insights of the GKI. With that, UNDP and its partners are opening the opportunity to youth living in Kuwait to partake in these dialogues and contribute the Kuwait's development agenda and drive its transition to a knowledge-based economy.

Objectives

  1. Enhance public understanding of Kuwait’s transition to a knowledge-based economy by sharing insights from the GKI 2023 and integrating data into policy discussions to inform and shape future strategies.
  2. Equip Kuwaiti youth with essential future-ready and market-driven skills through hands-on training, fostering their ability to contribute to national development and the achievement of Vision 2035 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  3. Facilitate multi-generational and cross-sectoral dialogue among youth and decision makers while establishing a robust network of young leaders and changemakers to drive national and regional progress and innovation.
