In partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (GSSCPD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is hosting the Knowledge Week in Kuwait, on 6-10 October 2024. This event aims to drive conversations that leverage the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) insights to address developmental challenges and support Kuwait’s transition towards a knowledge-based economy in line with its third National Development Plan.
The Knowledge Week was previously hosted in Egypt and Jordan and has been instrumental in fostering dialogue between youth and policymakers, focusing on the critical insights of the GKI. With that, UNDP and its partners are opening the opportunity to youth living in Kuwait to partake in these dialogues and contribute the Kuwait's development agenda and drive its transition to a knowledge-based economy.
We invite applications from youth residing in Kuwait who are passionate about drawing national insights from data analysis, participating in policy debates, and devising innovative solutions to current challenges. We strongly encourage applications from young women and men from diverse backgrounds, including persons with disabilities.
Interested candidates should complete the online application form by 18 August 2024. Selected participants will undergo a preparatory phase, in September 2024, equipping them with essential data analysis, project management, and soft skills.
Duration: Five days in the course of a week, on 6-10 October 2024.
Expected outcome: Participants will generate practical recommendations to be presented to decision makers and relevant figures, reinforcing efforts towards building a knowledge-based society.
